Where the buy buttons go

Buy indie, or just borrow.

When you find a book in Viraldico, the first link is a library catalog. After that, the buy button points to Bookshop.org, which supports independent bookstores, and to Libro.fm for audiobooks, which does the same for independent audiobook sellers.

Start at the library

The library comes before the buy buttons, not after them. On our discussion guides, the first link searches WorldCat, a vendor-neutral catalog that covers libraries worldwide. When a library hosts your club, it points at that library's own catalog instead. That order is fixed. It is not a setting, and it is not something we test.

Honest buttons

For audiobooks, Libro.fm tells us whether a title is actually available, so the button only appears when it is. For print, Bookshop doesn't offer that signal, so we show a "Find it on Bookshop.org" link that runs a search. It's always a real, working link, never a dead end and never an affiliate trick.

Or borrow it

The cheapest copy is the one you already pay for with your taxes. If your library is on Viraldico, you can search its catalog before you buy anything at all.
